The Company
Our client is a local council delivering community programs that support participation, connection and wellbeing across the local government area.
The Youth Team works with young people aged 12–25, delivering inclusive cultural, educational, social and recreational programs in partnership with schools, community organisations and other stakeholders.

They are seeking casual Youth & Community Workers to join their pool and provide additional support across existing programs. This is a multi-site role, with programs delivered across locations including Millers Point, Moore Park, Rosebery and other community venues.


The Job
This is a hands-on support role working alongside permanent staff to safely and effectively deliver structured youth programs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support youth and community programs, including after-school and school holiday activities.
  • Engage and build positive relationships with young people aged 12–25.
  • Assist with activity supervision, set-up and pack-down.
  • Follow safety procedures, risk assessments and safeguarding requirements.
  • Support administration, referrals and support pathways.
  • Identify and escalate concerns or disclosures appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and community stakeholders.

You

To be successful, you will have:
  • Experience working with young people across youth, education, recreation or community services.
  • A qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
  • A collaborative, energetic and proactive approach.
  • Strong safety and risk awareness.
  • Confidence supporting structured programs across multiple locations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts based on program and operational needs.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • National Criminal Record Check.
