The Role...
Reporting to the Trust Manager, you'll be the trusted expert ensuring seamless management of trust and controlled money accounts. You'll work with both internal teams and external clients, handling everything from daily transactions to annual audits, while ensuring full compliance with Law Society regulations.
What You'll Do
- Manage trust accounts with precision, processing payments via cheque, EFT, and PEXA
- Maintain compliance with Law Society rules and firm policies across all transactions
- Handle trust enquiries promptly via phone and email, providing exceptional client service
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and regular reports to support firm operations
- Process settlements, transfers, and daily banking with 100% accuracy
- Prepare and coordinate the annual Trust Audit with external examiners
- Collaborate with your finance team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- Minimum 2 years' trust officer experience
- Experience with time-based accounting systems
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong knowledge of Law Society trust account regulations
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proactive, service-oriented approach with strong communication skills
- Professional services background
- Experience with Aderant or similar practice management software is highly regarded
- Proven stakeholder management abilities
