The Opportunity
A privately held Australian precious metals refinery with a clear commercial strategy is building out the function that everything else depends on: feedstock. With the right volume of doré flowing through the door, the growth story accelerates along with the the path to LBMA accreditation.
  
This is a newly created Sourcing Manager role with end to end ownership of inbound supply across three corridors SE Asia, PNG, and the Australian mid-tier mine sector.  It is a genuine hunter mandate. You will be on planes, in meetings with mine owners and agents, negotiating contracts, navigating customs and banking across multiple jurisdictions, and building a supply pipeline that grows year on year. The role:
  
SE Asia doré sourcing
  • Inherit and immediately activate existing counterparty relationships in the Philippines and Indonesia, ensuring doré flow is consistent and growing
  • Own the end to end logistics including freight forwarding, customs clearance, banking arrangements, and AUSTRAC reporting for every inbound shipment
  • Systematically expand the SE Asia network, adding at least one new counterparty per year through direct prospecting and relationship development
PNG strategy and channel development
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current PNG agent channel incorporating volume, margin, compliance exposure, and long term viability and deliver a clear strategic recommendation
  • Evaluate whether to scale, renegotiate, or transition the existing channel, and execute on whatever direction is agreed
  • Explore the feasibility of establishing in-country assay or lab capability to support future PNG volume at scale
Australian mid-tier pipeline
  • Map the Australian mid-tier producer landscape to identify and profile  meaningful long term partners
  • Open doors, build trust, and move relationships from first conversation to contracted supply agreements
  • Protect and grow the existing book, defending margins against competitive pressure from the major players
Who We Are Looking For
  
Essential experience
  • 8+ years in precious metals commercial roles across refinery doré purchasing, mining off take, or bullion wholesale, along with a track record of building and converting supply relationships
  • A live, warm counterparty network across SE Asia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore routed channels that you can activate 
  • Solid working knowledge of AML-CTF obligations, LBMA Responsible Sourcing standards, and AUSTRAC reporting requirements in a precious metals context
  • Familiarity with the Australian mid tier producer and aggregator landscape, including an understanding of the Australian gold bullion market operates
Highly desirable
  • Direct experience working within or alongside an LBMA accredited refinery and an understanding of what the accreditation process demands commercially and operationally
  • Established relationships with gold buyers, agents, or mine side commercial contacts
  • Language capability in Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, or Tok Pisin will be genuinely useful in this role
  • The temperament to thrive as a senior autonomous operator in a privately held business that moves fast, rewards initiative, and has little appetite for bureaucracy
