SB Recruitment are partnering exclusively with a well established, founder led, growing business to appoint a Software Developer into their growing technology team. With a genuine mix of custom API work, an in house CRM, and new POS feature development on the roadmap, this is a great opportunity for a developer two to four years into their career to build real ownership and grow quickly.
The Role...
Working across custom APIs, the in house CRM, and the rollout of new POS features, you will get hands on with both front end and backend work. You will build with TypeScript and JavaScript across a modern React front end, alongside Python for backend and serverless development. This is a role for someone who wants to be trusted with real problems early in their career, rather than sitting on the sidelines.
What You'll Own...
- Feature delivery — work across a feature end to end, from the React front end through to the Python backend
- Custom API development — build and maintain custom APIs supporting the in house CRM and POS systems
- CRM and POS work — contribute to ongoing CRM development and the implementation of new POS features
- Serverless development — build with Azure Functions, or equivalent AWS or GCP experience, with the chance to grow into this if not already strong here
- Authentication — work with OAuth2 and token based authentication, with exposure to MSAL and Entra ID considered a strong plus rather than a requirement
- Version control — work within a Git and Azure DevOps environment, following a proper PR review workflow
- Two to four years experience as a full stack or backend developer
- Strong TypeScript and JavaScript, with solid experience in a modern React front end, React 18 and Vite ideal
- Strong Python, ideally with some exposure to serverless or event driven services
- Comfortable with Git and PR based workflows, OAuth2 or MSAL/Entra ID experience a bonus rather than essential
- A pragmatic approach, clean code, and clear communication in a small, close knit team
- Get up to speed on the existing CRM architecture and current API landscape
- Contribute to the rollout of new POS features already in progress
- Build confidence and autonomy across the full feature lifecycle, front end to backend
This is a genuine opportunity to build real ownership early in your career, working across meaningful projects rather than maintenance tickets. With a small team, direct exposure to the full stack, and a business that is actively investing in its technology, this is a strong next step for a developer ready to take on more responsibility without needing ten years of experience to get a seat at the table.
