Our client is a highly regarded local council with a strong commitment to delivering positive outcomes for the New South Wales community. With a number of significant projects and strategic initiatives underway, they are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial analysis and support to senior executives. 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team on a contract through to 30 Nov 2026, with an immediate start available and flexible hybrid working arrangements based in Parramatta.


The Job
Supporting the Finance Manager, you will be mainly responsible for the following duties:
  • Prepare monthly financial management reports, dashboards and financial statements to support executive decision-making.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts and financial plans for assigned business areas.
  • Provide expert financial advice, analysis and reporting to senior leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial performance, cash flow, savings targets and budget variances, recommending mitigation strategies where required.
  • Coordinate funding arrangements, financial proposals and contribute to business case development.
  • Research and resolve complex financial issues, providing practical recommendations and process improvements.
  
You
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following areas:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, supported by tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualified.
  • Previous NSW Government experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in management accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Commercially astute, with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
