This NSW Government department plays a key role in delivering quality services across the state. They’re currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to manage daily operations and support transactional finance functions, in an exciting contract role through to April 2026.
To succeed in this role, you'll need prior experience in the public sector. The position is based in Parramatta, with hybrid working arrangements, working from home on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Job
Reporting into the Finance Manager in this Senior Finance Officer role, you will be responsible for:
- Deliver financial support services across the broader division
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare financial reports
- Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations
- Manage month-end processes and reporting
- Carry out audit and assurance activities
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and detailed budgets, accounts, procurement documents, reports, and other financial documentation
- Perform financial data entry and maintain finance systems
You
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:
- Minimum of two years’ demonstrated experience in a similar Senior Finance role
- Prior experience working within government or the public sector
- Previous experience using SAP ERP (highly regarded)
- Strong auditing and accounting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
