The Company
This NSW Government department plays a vital role in shaping the state's development. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to oversee daily operations and provide support across transactional finance functions, in an exciting contract role through to October 2025.

To be successful in this role, you must have experience within the public sector. The position can be based at offices in Sydney, Grafton, or Newcastle.


The Job
Reporting into the Manager in this Finance Officer role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing financial support services across the wider division.
  • Financial analysis and financial reporting.
  • Preparing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations.
  • Managing month-end activities and reporting.
  • Conducting audit and assurance activities.
  • Assisting in preparing accurate and detailed budgets, accounts, procurements, reports and financial documents.
  • Financial data entry and system maintenance.

You
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar Senior Finance role for a minimum of two years.
  • Previous SAP ERP experience will be beneficial.
  • Auditing and accounting skills.
  • Government and/or large infrastructure/facilities sector experience will be highly favoured.
  • Intermediate level Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
