Our client is a highly regarded local council with a strong commitment to delivering positive outcomes for the New South Wales community. With a number of significant projects and strategic initiatives underway, they are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to provide financial leadership and support across key projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team on a contract through to 2 April 2027, with an immediate start available and flexible hybrid working arrangements based in Sydney CBD.


The Job
Supporting the Finance Manager, as a Senior Finance Business Partner you will be mainly responsible for the following duties:
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve business and financial performance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • Develop financial models, reports and performance dashboards.
  • Monitor project risks, opportunities and capital works performance.
  • Drive process improvements and financial best practice.
  • Support compliance with financial policies and reporting requirements
  
You
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following areas:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Senior Finance Business Partner or similar role, supported by tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualified.
  • Demonstrated experience in management accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience using TechnologyOne will be highly regarded.
  • Previous local government experience is highly desirable.
  • Commercially astute with a proactive, self-motivated approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
