Join a fast-growing commercial finance company in North Sydney delivering tailored lending solutions to businesses across diverse industries. Operating in an agile, entrepreneurial culture, this lender is scaling quickly and looking for seasoned professionals who want to make a real mark — not just fill a seat. You'll have visibility across the business, direct access to senior leadership, and the opportunity to help shape credit practices as the company grows.
The Role
Reporting to the Credit Manager, this is a hands-on senior credit role within a growing team, suited to an analyst who can work independently, apply sound commercial judgement, and manage a high-volume pipeline without close supervision. You will take ownership of the end-to-end credit process across commercial asset finance and novated lease transactions — from assessment and compliance through to documentation and settlement coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Assessment & Analysis
- Independently assess and decision commercial asset finance and novated lease applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and policy alignment
- Prepare well-structured credit submissions and commentary for applications within and outside policy, with clear risk rationale
- Own pipeline management and reporting, proactively identifying bottlenecks and maintaining turnaround standards
- Partner with the Credit Manager on complex or escalated deals, providing analysis and recommendations
- Lead KYC and AML processes for commercial applicants in accordance with regulatory obligations and internal policy
- Apply experienced judgement in reviewing identity documentation and flagging anomalies, escalating where appropriate
- Maintain audit-ready compliance records and drive continuous improvement in verification procedures
- Manage credit files across digital and manual systems with a high degree of accuracy and rigour
- Prepare approval letters, credit correspondence, and condition precedent documentation
- Act as a key point of contact for brokers, introducers, clients, and internal teams — resolving queries efficiently and maintaining strong relationships
- Monitor and chase outstanding conditions, keeping all parties informed and deals progressing
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial asset finance, novated leasing, or a related credit/lending role — you can assess a deal and articulate a credit position with confidence
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
- Solid working knowledge of KYC and AML requirements in a financial services context, with demonstrated practical application
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk and business outcomes
- Exceptional attention to detail — you set the standard, not just meet it
- Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities across a fast-moving pipeline
- Proficient across CRM systems, credit platforms, and Microsoft Office; quick to adopt new tools
- Solutions-focused and self-directed — you don't wait to be told what needs doing
