The Company
Our client, a reputable local council, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Programs Officer to join their high-performing team based in Sydney CBD, supporting the delivery of their waste and recycling program.

This is an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will bring strong project management skills, along with experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field.


The Job
In this exciting Recycling Programs Officer contract opportunity, you will required to undertake the following tasks:
  • Develop, implement and evaluate waste and resource recovery programs aligned with the Council's 2030 goals. 
  • Identify service issues and drive improvements across waste and recycling operations, systems, programs and communications.
  • Improve customer experience and service efficiency through targeted project delivery.
  • Engage with community and stakeholders to support waste reduction and increased recycling outcomes.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and external partners to deliver Cleansing and Waste objectives.
  • Support assessment of waste management plans and development application referrals. 
       
You
To be successful in this opportunity, you must have experience in the following areas & possess the below personal qualities:
  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental management or related field, with relevant experience.
  • Proven project management experience delivering behaviour change initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills across diverse groups.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage difficult interactions professionally and effectively.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
