Our client is a well-regarded NSW government organisation known for delivering high-quality services across the state. They are seeking two Legal Officers to support a broad range of matters on a contract through to April 2026.
To be successful in this role, candidates must be admitted as a lawyer in New South Wales and hold a current Australian practising certificate.
The Job
Reporting into the Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Provide clear advice and guidance to stakeholders and support Managers with documentation and decision-making.
- Gather and organise documentation from stakeholders to support efficient grant reviews.
- Handle enquiries and escalations, providing accurate information and resolving issues promptly.
- Supervise and coach team members to meet service standards and manage escalated matters.
- Apply relevant legislation and procedures to deliver appropriate client outcomes.
- Complete administrative and processing tasks accurately to support strong customer service.
- Maintain specialised knowledge to ensure high-quality service delivery.
You
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:
- Minimum 12 months experience in providing legal advice or a similar legal position.
- Admitted as a lawyer in NSW with a current Australian practising certificate permitting government legal practice.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a proactive, can-do attitude, managing tight deadlines and multiple tasks effectively.
- Public sector experience is highly regarded.
- Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
