For close to a decade and a half this trailblazing finance company have been dedicated to alternative financing for start ups with innovative finance solutions tailored to entrepreneurs and tech companies.  As Chief Financial Officer you will play a pivotal role in strategic planning and shaping the financial health and direction of the firm.
       
The Job….
Reporting through to the CEO and COO, this is a hands on role where you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Strategic partner in driving financial performance, shaping growth strategies, and ensuring compliance with both U.S. (GAAP/SEC) and Australian (IFRS/APRA) financial regulations.
  • Own the general ledger and oversee all accounting functions including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals across U.S. and Australian markets.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial and management accounting including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow, identifying trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX requirements, and Australian IFRS standards and APRA regulatory obligations.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, regulatory bodies, banks, and investors across both geographies.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the financial health of the company.
  • Provide the Board and investors with timely, accurate financial information and strategic recommendations.
  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters across the USA and Australia.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • CA or CPA qualifications with a solid understanding of both the US and Australian financial reporting standards, tax environments, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Be comfortable in maintaining a hands on approach to all aspects of finance including payroll, accounts receivable and transactional accounts – a perfect role for someone who likes to understand and present on figures from the ground up.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and manage financial risks effectively.
  • Comfortable with explaining complex financial information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to upskill, lead mentor and guide an overseas Accounts Officer.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver budgets, forecasts and capital management to support business objectives and growth opportunities.
  • Data driven decision making capabilities.
