Our client is a well-respected NSW Government organisation focused on delivering quality services to communities across the state. They are seeking two Community and Stakeholder Engagement Specialists to join their business unit—one based in Parramatta and one in Sydney CBD.
The ideal candidates will have experience delivering strategic community engagement initiatives, particularly those targeting specific communities and stakeholder groups.
This is a contract opportunity offering an immediate start through to 31 March 2027.
The Job
Reporting into the Senior Manager, in this exciting Community Engagement contract, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Lead strategic, insight-led community and stakeholder engagement across NSW.
- Develop and deliver engagement and communications strategies that inform decisions and support outcomes.
- Provide strategic advice to leaders and project teams on engagement opportunities, risks and issues.
- Use research, data and insights to target activity, anticipate trends and measure impact.
- Create compelling stories and content that connect Transport’s vision to local priorities and benefits.
- Lead consultations, workshops, forums and events that build trust and capture community insights.
- Build strong relationships with government, industry, community and Aboriginal stakeholders.
- Support consistent, high-quality engagement practices and mentor team members.
You
To be successful for this Community Engagement contract, you must have experience with the following:
- Proven experience delivering strategic communications and stakeholder engagement for complex, high-profile programs.
- Strong relationship-building across government, industry, community and Aboriginal partners, with culturally safe engagement practice.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and channels.
- Strong capability in using data, insights and evaluation to target engagement, measure impact and manage issues and risks.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- IAP2 Engagement Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Current Australian driver licence and willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when required.
