The Opportunity
   
Reporting to the Collections Manager, this role is responsible for leading and developing a multi-site commercial collections team of approximately ten staff. The position combines hands-on leadership with operational oversight, coaching and stakeholder engagement, and plays a key role in driving performance while supporting fair and sustainable customer outcomes.
  
Your duties will include:  
  • Leading, motivating and developing a geographically dispersed collections team
  • Driving achievement of commercial collections targets through strong operational discipline and coaching
  • Providing clear direction on priorities, performance expectations and standards
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex files, disputes and customer matters
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, arrears movement and quality outcomes
  • Fostering a high-performing, accountable culture aligned with customer and business expectations
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to broader collections strategy    
   
You
   
You are an experienced people leader with a proven ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams. You bring strong leadership capability and are comfortable driving performance while maintaining fair, customer-focused outcomes.
  
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the following areas and possess the following qualities:  
  • A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in a leadership role with direct people management responsibility, within commercial asset finance
  • Strong capability in coaching, performance management and capability development
  • Exposure to multi-site or remote team leadership (highly regarded)
  • Sound understanding of arrears management, dispute resolution and related recovery principles
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
