Reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics, you'll leverage Power BI, SQL, and Excel to conduct commercial analysis, engage stakeholders across the business, and automate reporting processes that drive strategic decision making.
Commercial Analysis & Automated Reporting
- Design, build, and maintain automated Power BI dashboards and Excel solutions delivering commercial insights across all business levels
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and model data from multiple sources for financial and operational analysis
- Create scalable, high performance data models balancing technical robustness with business usability
- Conduct commercial analysis including trend identification, variance analysis, KPI tracking, and forecasting
- Partner with finance and commercial teams to gather requirements and translate business questions into analytical solutions
- Present data driven insights, recommendations, and narratives to diverse audiences from operational teams to senior leadership
- Deliver training and ongoing support to build organizational data literacy and enable self service analytics adoption
- Establish consistent business definitions, metrics, and data standards ensuring accuracy and reliability
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and eliminate manual processes
- Document data lineage, transformation logic, and reporting methodologies for transparency and compliance
- Proactively enhance existing reports, optimize processes, and expand analytics capabilities
- Stay current with Power BI features, Excel developments, and emerging BI trends
- Contribute to the strategic evolution of Vestone's data analytics function
- 3+ years' experience in business intelligence, commercial analysis, or data analytics within financial services or asset finance
- Advanced Power BI expertise including data modelling, DAX formulas, and dashboard design
- Strong SQL proficiency writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all organizational levels
- Curious, resilient mindset with enthusiasm for tackling complex business challenges
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related STEM field
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL processes, and orchestration tools (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory)
- Advanced Excel skills for analysis and automation
- Exposure to Python, R, or other analytical programming languages
