The Opportunity
A 6-month temporary opportunity has become available within their Sydney CBD office, commencing as soon as possible.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support the wider collections team by managing a portfolio of consumer mortgage accounts up to 80 days in arrears.
This role requires a balanced approach — achieving strong recovery outcomes while maintaining empathy and professionalism when working with customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contacting customers to discuss overdue accounts and recover outstanding arrears in a professional and respectful manner
- Negotiating and implementing realistic repayment arrangements tailored to each customer’s situation
- Monitoring repayment plans and following up on commitments
- Liaising with internal stakeholders including Customer Service, Credit and Legal teams to resolve matters efficiently
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements
- Achieving individual KPIs while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment
About You
To be successful in this opportunity, you will bring the following experience and qualities:
- Minimum 18 months’ collections experience within financial services OR 18 months customer service experience within a financial services environment
- Confidence managing sensitive conversations regarding overdue accounts
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- A proactive mindset and the ability to quickly integrate into an established team
- Availability to commence immediately or at short notice will be highly regarded
