The Opportunity…
Due to continued growth, a permanent opportunity has become available for a Collections Officer to join their collaborative and high-performing team. Reporting to the Collections Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of early-stage consumer accounts (up to 30 days in arrears), working with customers to understand their circumstances and achieve positive outcomes.
This role would suit an experienced collections professional or someone from a high-volume customer service environment who enjoys solving problems, managing complex customer enquiries and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contacting customers regarding overdue repayments in a professional and respectful manner
- Working with customers to understand their circumstances and negotiate suitable repayment arrangements
- Monitoring payment arrangements and maintaining accurate account records
- Managing a shared email inbox and responding to customer enquiries
- Issuing Notices of Demand where required
- Investigating and resolving customer queries through liaison with internal departments
- Maintaining accurate file notes and ensuring all activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally possess:
- Experience within collections, financial services customer service, banking, lending or another high-volume customer service environment
- Alternatively, at least 12 months' collections experience within financial services
- Experience handling complex customer enquiries, disputes or difficult conversations over the phone
- Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A resilient, customer-focused approach with a commitment to achieving positive outcomes
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
