This NSW Government department plays a key role in delivering essential services across the state. They are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to manage end‑to‑end AP functions as part of an exciting contract opportunity.
To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated accounts payable experience along with strong hands‑on SAP capability. This is a hybrid position based in the Sydney CBD, offering a flexible balance between office‑based and remote work.
The Job
Reporting into the Finance Manager in this Finance Support Officer - Accounts Payable role, you will be responsible for:
- Manage end‑to‑end AP processes, including invoice processing and payments
- Ensure invoices are accurately processed, goods receipted, and matched to correct purchase orders
- Liaise with vendors, shared services, and internal business stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment issues
- Follow up on urgent payments and proactively monitor and manage ageing invoices
- Reconcile creditor statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support ad‑hoc finance tasks and reporting as required
You
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in end‑to‑end accounts payable
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience using SAP ERP (essential)
- Previous experience working in a Government environment highly regarded
- Intermediate‑level Excel skills, including data entry, reconciliation and basic reporting
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountability
