The Company...
Our client, a highly respected and successful Australian furniture manufacturer with over 20 years of industry experience, is seeking a reliable and proactive Accounts Officer to join their dynamic and friendly team. This is a newly created position offering the chance to work in a stable, well-established business. You'll play a key role in managing day to day accounting functions and providing essential administrative support to the office.

The Role..
We're looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong foundational accounting knowledge and hands-on experience in AP, AR, and Xero. This varied role is perfect for someone who enjoys working across accounting and administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
Working closely with the CFO, internal team members, and external accountants, you'll be responsible for accounts payable and receivable, monthly reporting support, and general office administration including document management, supplier coordination, and staff support.
 
Duties:
  • Independently manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Process supplier invoices, payments, and expense claims
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers to resolve invoice, payment, delivery note, or credit note discrepancies
  • Perform weekly customer/supplier account reconciliations
  • Prepare statements and follow up on outstanding receivables
  • Support the CFO with month-end reporting, financial summaries, and data verification
  • Handle incoming calls and respond to general customer enquiries professionally
  • Provide support with HR and payroll documentation as needed
  • Contribute to process improvements, data consistency, and internal system checks
Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar accounting role
  • Proficiency in Xero or comparable accounting software
  • Formal accounting qualification (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or relevant major)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn, adapt, and grow with the business
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and MS Office suite
  • Solid problem-solving abilities
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic
  • Australian work rights essential
  • Mandarin language skills an advantage for this role as you will be liaising with overseas suppliers.
