Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Process daily bank reconciliations and learn to work with multiple currencies and entities
- Apply customer receipts in our accounting systems and notify teams when ready for dispatch – you'll play a key role in keeping things moving!
- Take ownership of the full accounts payable cycle and develop your skills in supplier management
- Handle daily transactions following clear compliance procedures and contribute to fraud prevention
- Maintain our General Ledger systems and develop your technical accounting skills
- Get involved in general office duties including banking runs, petty cash, mail, and other varied tasks
- Assist with month end processes including journals, reports, and reconciliations – great learning opportunities!
- Support the Finance Manager and Accountant with BAS preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and special projects
- Work alongside the sales team to follow up on outstanding invoices and develop your communication skills
- Get involved in exciting system upgrades and contribute your ideas to process improvements
- Grow into a trusted resource for accounting queries and develop your expertise across the business
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience in the following:
- A qualification in accounting (degree or TAFE) – you've got the foundation, now let's build on it!
- Intermediate Excel skills and a genuine enthusiasm for applying what you've learned in a real-world setting
- Strong organizational abilities – you can juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines without breaking a sweat
- A natural communicator who enjoys problem-solving and working things out
- Someone who thrives in a team environment and loves collaborating with others
- A solid grasp of accounting fundamentals and financial processes
- A friendly, positive attitude and the confidence to connect with people at all levels
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a bonus, however, training available for the right person!
